Language School Question and Answer Section: The Survey Text

Below please find the introductory text of our survey which was sent to the "Big Four" language schools in Japan.

Dear Language School Personnel Department,

I am writing today to ask for your participation in our effort to provide up-to-date, reasonably unbiased information to young people who are thinking about teaching English in Japan. Last year, a group of college instructors in Kawasaki started The Teaching in Japan Page[ http://www.teachinginjapan.com ] in an effort to combat the enormous amount of disinformation about teaching in Japan that is provided on the web by either:

1. Those with a financial interest in the information presented (or)
2. Disgruntled ex-teachers.

Currently, we seek to post a job information forum where those interested in teaching in Japan can read about the work environments at several different companies all in one place; therefore, we are asking you to provide specific answers to the questions listed below and to please include the name and title of the person responding to our questionnaire. We intend to offer information about all of the "big players" in Japan, so if we don't receive a response, we will have to rely on information provided by current and former teachers from your organization. We've recently experienced a large jump in site traffic, so we hope that you will take the time to provide our readers with accurate information.
